Victorian Town House

A grand North London Victorian townhouse

A beautiful four storey Victorian house on a leafy street in North London.

An exquisite example of Victorian architecture with raised first floor, high ceilings, ornate plaster work, fireplaces, mosaic flooring. This large 5 bedroom house was giving a new life.

At the back of the entrance hall with the sweeping staircase a few steps down leads to the kitchen extension with polished marble floor and a large french doors to the garden. The dark blue kitchen has carved oak handles and an antique vitrine and complete with a small breakfast bar. As a soft touch a strong burnt orange and grey tones curtains was designed in organic linens to give hints to a retro feel with modern lines.

The grand lounge and dining rooms are tied by the glossy pitch black panelling and lime washed walls. The luxurious emerald green velvet curtains complimented by the bamboo wallpaper and Chesterfield couches in a rich tan leather with a stone coffee table and contemporary armchairs.

The centre piece in the dining room is an impressive antique asian table with cane dining chairs. The huge mantle piece mirror reflects the modern brass chandelier. The symmetry in the room is kept by the two library bookcases built on either side of the marble fireplace.

A dramatic dark grey bedroom over looking the garden fitted is fitted with a bespoke mustard velvet bed, a low hanging French chandelier and bohemian embroidered linen curtains. The ensuite to this bedroom is tiny but exciting with a glazed mustard coloured terracotta tiled shower with chrome fitting complimented with earthy oak finishes.

The main bathroom of the house is a bright space with white glazed Moroccan tiles on the walls and a stunning herringbone marble floor in nine different marbles. Over the deep soak bath tub and the vanity are three large arched mirrors with vintage wall lights. The brass fittings and the antique wall cabinets really makes this a space to remember.
