Transformed North London warehouse

Henage/Joshen transformed converted factory flat in North London.

The clients requested a new layout to the lower ground to accommodate kitchen and entertainment space as well and a bedroom with en-suite. It was important to strip back the flat to part reveal its original factory use, show raw materials while adding a luxury boutique hotel feel.

The lower ground was dark and to maximise on the usage of the space and light, a new focal point in the room was created with a statement concrete staircase. The staircase is a contemporary take on classic building materials with graphic shape. To new u-shaped staircase means the new lower ground is floated in light from the huge windows on the ground floor with a dramatic two floors ceiling height.

The one-piece bespoke stainless steal counter gives the room a natural divide and suits the industrial feel. The large counter top works perfectly as a breakfast or cocktail bar. The exposed raw concrete ceiling is kept warm with solid oak flooring throughout.
